ColrAIR, the freeware AIR version of Color Schemer Studio

Hello, Today was my first day playing around with Adobe’s AIR SDK. And here is the result! Wow, isn’t it amazing Mike?!

It’s my goal to make an freeware/opensource AIR app which will do the same thing as Color Schemer Studio. Original isn’t it? It’s the freeware/opensource part which is the main-reason why I’m building this. Color Schemer is just the best application for organizing colors on your computer and/ or Mac.

Installing the AIR SDK on Mac isn’t that hard, but adding a PATH to some Environment Variables was completely new and unknown for me. Just coulnd’t get it to work, and it wasn’t documentated in the install guide provided by Adobe itself. So after some searching on the web, using my favourite search-engine Google, I found this how-to. Very usefull for Mac developers.

OpenIdea: Firefox “Save Audio”-Add-on

Wouldn’t it be great if you could save just any audio fragment directly from your browser?
It’s isn’t necessarily that this idea has to be an Firefox add-on. If this can be constructed web-based-wise, it’s even better! People should be able to save the audio-file on their harddisk/through email/Pownce afterwards. This way mankind is able to save sound ,from the web, which they want to use for other things, like ring-tones/ sound effects for flash/ etc.
Using Pownce (I still have a few invitations left!), you could send your friends a sound-effect/fragment.
And to make things even better, an online sound-editting environment would be great! (something similar to online video-editting apps (link)

And this is EveryScape (google-street-view-alike):

Something similar is available to the Dutch: Go to Funda.nl, find a house for sale in your neighbourhood and go to the “Buurt”-tab. Left to the map there’s a 360degree panoramaview-possibility to look around on that specific location.

Adobe Live 2007

In exactly two weeks the Adobe Live event will happen in the Amsterdam RAI! And I’ll be there to check things out on various subjects ;)

Twitter is a status-update service, where people like you and me can submit their current occupation. It’s possible to submit it in several ways, like via the web, instant messenger or sms. SMS requires you to send an SMS to the UK, which costs about 25euro.ct/message from the Netherlands. My status is being updated once a… month? hehe, in the above flash-thingy.

Danny, and some other geeza’s are about to release SpotzDigger into the public. Until then.. be sure to check the SpotzDigger blog, where they will post about news, updates, research, new features, and more regarding the project!
SpotzDigger is a tool which let’s users easily add markers to Google Maps maps. I suppose their goal is to have even your grandmother creating a map of every spot she’s ever been to. ( …don’t think nasty you pervert).
SpotzDigger’s unique selling point is an online community, letting you collaborate with other people on the net.

Anyway; I think it will rock actually. (I like everything that’s using Google Maps’ API and have special features) Maybe there’s a usefull feature in it for me, to integrate in HeerenveenInBeeld.nl

mootools released version 1.00! Yay! The javascript library has been updated! Whats new you ask? No idea, but it must have some new features, hah.

ClipBOX presentatie

Vandaag hebben Geoffrie Hoiting en ik ClipBOX aan het grote publiek geshowed. Menigeen was onder de indruk. Zo wilde ook de gehele minor overstappen op Ajax, heel frappant! De presentatie ging oke, was goed voorbereid (naar zeggen van Rene en Raymond). Wel kregen we te horen dat we er af en toe bijstonden als beveiligings-kerels, maarja wat wil je ook; zo’n perfect half-af product moet goed beveiligd worden, zodat niemand de source ript.

De overige presentaties waren leuk en interessant om bij te wonen. Hierover zal ik verder niet uitwijden, dat morgen de desbetreffende personen lekker zelf doen op hun eigen blogs.
PS: Volgens mij is de interesse in de RIA-blogs nihil, maar toch…

Hierbij wil ik graag al mijn fans, klasgenoten, lerar.. oh nee die waren er niet, aanhangers, familie, vrienden, Geartjan Meijer, Geoffrie Hoiting en Eelco Wiersma bedanken voor de mentale steun die ik tijdens afgelopen minor gehad heb. Met de laatste drie heb ik komende vrijdag (2 februari 2007) nog een assessment.

Online desktop in javascript and more

This one hasn’t got anything to do with our project. But I came across the Ajaxian website. It mentioned a desktop OS written in javascript, and some other shizzle. The website is called Craythur (Beta 1). There’s a Youtube video showing you how this one works: here It has some nice features like an agenda, my tasks, search, contacts, file dropping an my notes. The my tasks function is very nice. It has a cool progress-bar for each individual task.

Yes, Craythur is an Irish term for whiskey.
